According to the USDA Household Food Security report, almost 40 million people lived in poverty in the year 2017, 13 million of those being children. In these situations, parents and caretakers are unable to provide adequate, nutritious food for their children.
While there are several Federal nutrition assistance programs, including SNAP and the National School Lunch Program, the issue of hunger in America continues to be a problem that we, with the help of Numana, Inc., hope to solve once and for all.
First formed in August of 2008, Numana, Inc., based in El Dorado, Kansas, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity. Since its inception, Numana has dedicated its business to combatting childhood hunger across the globe—and to date, they’ve packaged over 40 million meals and garnered over 194,000 volunteers in the process.
Numana’s core capability is organizing and facilitating food packaging events across the United States, where hundreds of volunteers gather to package simple nutritious meals. Most Numana meals consist of rice, soy protein, freeze-dried pinto beans and a blend of vitamins and minerals.
